Grand Canyon Weddings are fantastic. Here's a couple of things you need to know:
First the Park Service does have a wedding permit for any couples getting married at the Grand Canyon.
Second, remember that the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is at almost 7000 feet elevation. Evenings can get really cool, so bring a warm jacket to wear for after the ceremony and photoshoot. And be sure to bring good foot wear. BRIDES: don't only bring heels! Please bring shoes that you can walk comfortably in over uneven rocks. (NOT Flip-flops!).
Third, the Grand Canyon gets windy - hairspray alone is not enough. Be sure to bring hair pins - several of them! Even on calm days, the edge of the canyon will be windy due to the hot air rising out of the canyon and cool air slipping off the rim. Trust me, I've photographed a lot of brides at the Grand Canyon and only about half have taken my advice .... the other half were constantly struggling with their hair blowing across their face.
PRICES: I give my best prices (and get the best pictures) of couples that are eloping. As wedding parties get larger, there is less time to get those great shots, plus the bride tends to be completely distracted from the moment by all the guests.
Looking forward to a great 2017 wedding season!
